Paint color can make your house feel like home

all it took was a bit of color to transform our house & make it feel like home

Who knew a fresh coat of paint would make our house feel brand new, fresh and shiny?!?! If you're on the fence, do it. Well worth every penny to make our refuge feel more like home.

And when it came to choosing colors, I did a deep dive on Pinterest and gathered my favorites. Then I called in the experts because the number of white and charcoal options was....intimidating, to say the least.

Molly Erin, owner of Brass + Oak in downtown Placerville, got our vision right away. She helped me pare down options, and we came up with a killer exterior and interior (palette) that fits in with the rustic-Pendleton-hygge-vibe we're aiming for.

And bonus - she offers hourly consultations at Brass + Oak! Since we're still building out the property's infrastructure, I wasn't quite ready for a full design proposal. The hourly option was a great way to crank out an immediate project.

Also can't recommend E. Durst Painters (916-712-7856, Facebook) enough. His team was cheerful, on-time, kind to our animals incredibly hard-working. Book early as their schedule is tight, and we didn't have to provide our final paint choices until a few days before they started. At the time (June 2021), Benjamin Moore was the best options to ensure enough showed up to finish the job quickly. Be sure to ask Ernie if this is still the case, given that supply/distribution issues are likely for the near future.
